"The United States Supreme Court has agreed the Trump Administration does not want to ask about the citizenship status of US resident for any legitimate purpose. This is a huge step to a complete and accurate count of every person living in the United States. But the hard work is ahead of us. We must all do what we can to make sure every person counts."

The bill will protect the health and safety of pregnant women and youth in immigration detention by reinstituting their presumption of release, prohibit the U.S. Department of Homeland Security from shackling pregnant women in its custody, and set new standards of care and transparency for the treatment of pregnant women and youth.

The bill, the Keeping Families Together Act, H.R. 2763, would block a proposed US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) rule that targets mixed-immigrant status families for federal housing eviction, including 55,000 children.
