Appropriations – Investing in TX-29

Members of Congress have numerous responsibilities, but one of their most important jobs is securing federal funding to help improve the lives of their constituents. Since getting elected to the House of Representatives, Congresswoman Garcia has worked diligently to secure millions in federal funding for the district, the greater Houston area, and Texas. She has fought to fund nutritional programs that seniors and children depend on, expand public housing, and improve the region’s infrastructure and public transportation. Congresswoman Garcia also fought to secure clean air and affordable housing for all and advocated for stronger civil protections for the vulnerable. She has also secured major investments in the district’s public schools and community health centers that provide critical services to working families. In addition, she led the first extreme heat-focused appropriations letter to provide funding for extreme heat programs.
