WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, on the 95th birthday of legendary labor and civil rights activist Dolores Huerta, Congresswoman Sylvia R. Garcia (D-TX-29) reintroduced a resolution to designate April 10 as "Dolores Huerta Day" in her honor. The resolution celebrates Huerta's lifelong commitment to justice, equality, and the empowerment of working people, especially farm workers and women.

In a new video, Congresswoman Garcia shares her experience reporting for jury service at the Harris County Jury Assembly Building and calls on constituents to treat jury service as more than a civic duty, but as a powerful act of democratic participation.

WASHINGTON, D.C. –Last week, Congresswoman Sylvia Garcia (D-TX-29) reintroduced the bipartisan American Dream and Promise Act of 2025, a crucial piece of legislation that would provide a pathway to citizenship for Dreamers, TPS holders, and DED recipients. The bill has the support of 202 Members of Congress and a growing list of more than 130 organizations, ranging from civil rights and education groups to labor unions and immigrant rights organizations.
