WASHINGTON, DC -- On January 22nd, 2020, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) announced its approval of a Medicaid family planning program in Texas that bars women from seeking care from healthcare providers that offer abortion services, such as Planned Parenthood.

"It is deeply concerning that in a state with a maternal mortality rate that is higher than many developing countries, our leaders are blocking healthcare from those that are most at risk," Congresswoman Garcia said.

WASHINGTON, DCCongresswoman Sylvia Garcia (TX-29) joined Congressman Brown, Vice Chair of House Armed Services Committee, and 29 other lawmakers in sending a letter to Defense Secretary Mark Esper about the administration's plan to divert billions of dollars in military funds to additional wall construction along the U.S.- Mexico border.

WASHINGTON, DC — Today, Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the House of Representatives, announced that Congresswoman Sylvia R. Garcia (TX-29) will serve as one of seven House impeachment managers. The impeachment managers will act as prosecutors for House Democrats who will outline the case against President Donald Trump in the Ukraine scandal during the Senate trial.
