WASHINGTON, DC — Today, Congresswoman Sylvia Garcia (TX-29) joined colleagues in the House of Representatives to pass the bipartisan TRACED Act, which protects consumers from unwanted robocalls. In 2018, Americans received an estimated 48 billion robocalls, an increase of over 64% since 2016. Consumer lives are being disrupted every day by ongoing attempts to steal their information. With this trend increasing, this bill is a major step in restoring Americans' control over their own phones and protecting their information from scammers.

WASHINGTON, DC — Congresswoman Sylvia Garcia (D-TX) and her colleague Congressman Lance Gooden (R-TX) introduced the Managed Stablecoins are Securities Act of 2019. This piece of legislation would protect consumers against certain cryptocurrencies, such as Facebook Libra Project. The bill would clarify that "managed stablecoins" are securities under the Security Exchange Act of 1934 and thus regulated by the Security and Exchange Commission.

WASHINGTON, DC —Today, the House of Representatives passed H.R. 4863, the United States Export Finance Agency Act of 2019, which would reauthorize the Export-Import (EX-IM) Bank for ten years and increase its lending authority to $175 billion dollars. The EX-IM Bank is the official credit agency of the United States that support U.S. companies with remaining competitive with foreign exporters.
