Two Houstonians – Devani Gonzalez and Brij Agrawal – got the chance to witness the President Trump deliver his State of the Union address to Congress in person.
They both are immigrants: Agrawal was born in India, and is a Subway franchisee, and Gonzalez a Mexican-born teacher dreaming of becoming a Houston cop.

Devani is a Substitute Teacher who came to the United States when she was 7 years old. Before graduating from San Jacinto Community College with an Associate of Applied Science in Criminal Justice in 2017, she was awarded with the 2017 Outstanding Criminal Justice Student Award. After graduation she was a recruit with the Community Volunteer Fire Department.
