HOUSTON, TX — Yesterday, Congresswoman Sylvia R. Garcia (TX-29) filed H.R. 7456 alongside Rep. Don Young (AK-At-Large), Rep. Anthony G. Brown (MD-04), Rep. Brian Babin (TX-36), and Rep. Steven Palazzo (MS-04). This bill would create a grant program for community and technical colleges offering exceptional training programs for maritime industry professions. The bill would also authorize $200 million nationwide to fund the grant program.

Garcia (TX-29) and Congressman Brian Babin (TX-36) filed H.R. 7456, which would create a grant program for community and technical colleges offering exceptional training programs for maritime industry professions. The bill would also authorize $200 million nationwide to fund the grant program. The bill would directly impact San Jacinto College, which has campuses in both Congresswoman Garcia and Congressman Babin's districts.
