HOUSTON, TX. – Tropical storm Imelda wreaked havoc on Houston and greater Harris County after dumping as much as 43 inches of rain in 72 hours in parts of Harris County. So far, five people have been reported dead, and several others injured as a result of the storm. Imelda also caused significant damage to hundreds of buildings and homes, county infrastructure, and the largest USPS Processing and Distribution Center (P&DC) in the country, located in Houston, TX.

Congresswoman Sylvia Garcia will hold a press conference today across the street from the damaged USPS P&DC to discuss information regarding post-Imelda recovery and information on USPS service in the greater Houston area.
