Congresswoman Sylvia Garcia and Texas Congressional Democrats to Host Press Conference Focused on Governor Abbott’s Failed Leadership During this Pandemic, Disproportionate Impact of COVID-19 in Latino and African-American Communities Across Texas

WASHINGTON, DC – This afternoon, Congresswoman Sylvia Garcia (TX-29) and Texas Congressional Democrats will host a press conference focused on Governor Greg Abbott's failed leadership in Texas during this ongoing pandemic and how this virus is disproportionately affecting Latino and African-American across the state. The members will be demanding for Governor Abbott to allow local municipal and county officials to take additional steps (i.e., stay-at-home orders) to protect their residents from the sustained spike in COVID-19 cases across the state.
