WASHINGTON, DC - Today, Congresswoman Sylvia Garcia (TX-29) announced that the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has awarded nearly $11 million to BakerRipley for its Head Start Programs.

BakerRipley's Head Start and Early Head Start Programs provide comprehensive child development and familiy support services to low-income infants, toddlers, pre-school children and their families all across the greater Houston area.

"It is my honor to announce that BakerRipley is the recipient of this HHS grant," said Congresswoman Garcia. "These funds will support BakerRipley's Head Start programs, which promotes school readines for low-income children in our community and provides them with a positive learning environment. Investing in early childhood education produces long-term benefits for our children, and I am thrilled that HHS is investing in the children of Houston," concluded Congresswoman Garcia.
