STATEMENT FROM CONGRESSWOMAN SYLVIA GARCIA on DACA Decision

"I'm incredibly disappointed by yesterday's DACA ruling. DACA recipients, known as Dreamers, are once again being subjected to immense uncertainty regarding their futures. The DACA program has protected millions of Dreamers who contribute so much to our nation. They don't know any other country – in their heart, soul, and mind they are American. America has been their home since they were little children.

Sadly, the program is now at serious risk of being dismantled. Now more than ever, is the time for 10 Senate Republicans to join Democrats and pass the House-passed bipartisan Dream and Promise Act. This is the way we can ensure Dreamers have permanent protection and a path to lawful status.

It's past time for America to modernize our broken immigration system by putting people over politics. The Senate must act now."
